Over the years during his tenure at Meet the Press, one of host Tim Russert’s trademarks has been his occasional references to Buffalo sports teams. More often than not he mentions the Bills, but it isn’t unheard of for him to ask his panelists, “How about those Sabres?”

But with the Sabres on the outside looking in when it comes to the NHL playoffs and the Washington Capitals fighting off elimination yesterday against the Philadelphia Flyers, Russert went native and pumped the Caps on today’s edition of the program:

The Pennsylvania Democratic primary is Tuesday.
